Sadly passed away on Sunday, May 5, aged 87. He is predeceased by his parents Winifred and William (Billy), his brother Gerald and his beautiful wife Ann sadly passed away in 1996. He is survived by his loving daughter Nicola, her husband Jason and their children Abigail and Brooke, his eldest daughter Jacqueline and her daughter Abigail, his stepdaughters Helen, Diana and Sara along with their families. Max and Ann met in Zambia and lived there for many years before returning to England in 1990. They were very happily married for over 25 years. Max was born in Accrington in 1936 and attended the local boys grammar school before going on to become a mechanical engineer. He first worked for Rolls Royce before moving to Zambia to work as an engineer on the copper mines. He went on to become chief superintendent. Max loved nothing more than spending time on the golf course and at the 19th hole. He loved spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all those who had the honour of knowing and loving him. A celebration of his life will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Tuesday, May 21 at 11.40am. Family flowers only please. Donations can be made to East Lancs Hospice.
