OwenWALSHMR Owen Walsh, of Surrey Street, Accrington, passed away peacefully in hospital, on Sunday, April 12, aged 86. Owen served as an apprentice Sheet metal worker at Langbridges in Accrington, prior to his National Service in the R.A.F. in Singapore. On his return to Accrington he worked at Joseph Lucas in Burnley in the research and development department, where he remained until his retirement. During his youth he enjoyed swimming and cycling, but during his mature years he took to sailing and cruising - sharing many happy times with family and friends. The beloved husband of Sheila Walsh, he was a very dear father to Sharon & Malcolm, Virginia & Richard, Ross & Steven, and much loved grandfather of the late Robert Kell, and also grandfather to Ryan, Ethan, Fallon, Romilly, Purdey and Rhys. The private service was held at the crematorium prior to cremation. Funeral director: Wolstenholme Funeral Service, Accrington.
