JuneWALSHMrs June Mary Walsh, of Abbeycroft Nursing Home, Loveclough, formerly of Bankside Lane, Bacup, died at home on Friday, August 12, aged 81. June spent the majority of her life living in Bacup, with just a brief time in Oswaldtwistle when she was first married. She retired from Olive House, where she was assistant cook, but her main trade was hairdressing, firstly as an apprentice to her uncle Sam Clegg, before running the salon after his death. Widow of Tom, she leaves daughters Elaine and Vanessa, son Russell, and their partners, six grandchildren and partners, nine great-grandchildren, sister Marjorie, sister-in-law Marion, Margaret and Ellen, nieces, and nephews. The funeral will take place on Wednesday, August 31, leaving Knight and Boys, Stacksteads at 10.15am, before service at Accrington Crematorium, followed by a celebration of June’s life at Bacup Cricket Club. Family flowers only please, with donations to Dementia Care via the funeral director Paul Swarbrick for Knight and Boys Funeral Service, Stacksteads.
