On behalf of the Axbridge Singers:
Maureen was one of the longest-standing members of the Axbridge Singers, joining when we first began in 2005, and singing soprano. My favourite memory of her is singing the lead as part of a small group for 'Why Do Fools Fall in Love' (you can find a very fuzzy recording of it at Tyntesfield on Youtube!) - we had a lot of fun, making up actions and trying to remember all the words as the rest of the choir sang 'doo-wops' underneath. Maureen was a constant, thoughtful, kind member of the choir for very many years, and her stoicism in continuing to come to rehearsals and take part despite ill health was inspiring. We will miss her lovely smile.

I remember Maureen 's determination to come singing in spite of her illness - a lovely, quietly independent person.
