MikeWALTONEx British Steel 1947 - 2020 aged 73 years Sadly passed away after a very brave fight with cancer on 13th June 2020 at home surrounded by those that he loved. Reunited back with Val, his wife who he adored. He has been a wonderful husband, dad, grandad, brother, uncle and friend to many and we are sure he will only be remembered with a smile and the fondest of memories. If love and memories can keep us together, then each day we are closer than ever. Back safe in the arms of our loved ones xx Your devastated family. Sadly, due to Covid and limited numbers only family members as per invite will be allowed at the funeral. Family flowers only, but donations in lieu can be made to Macmillan Nurses.

Mike was the most amazing neighbour with a heart of gold. It was a privilege to grow up knowing him. I’ll never forget him dressing up on Halloween and giving me sweets after making me sing as well as the endless ice lollies and cans of coke in the summer. Those memories will live on in my heart forever. I hope you’re at peace and reunited with Val after so many years. I will miss you always. Love from Elle next door xx

Mike was such a lovely man and a true gentleman. He was so friendly and made you feel so relaxed in his company and he was genuinely interested in you as a person. He loved his family and always spoke about Nicki and Adam with such pride and he loved Elisha and Jacob. My favourite memory is sitting in the pub in Ibiza and hearing him talk about his favourite holiday with Val. One of the things I most admired was when we would see him out in Yarm and we were ready to go home and he was just moving on to the next pub. RIP Mike. The world has lost a true gentleman x
