StevenWARNERof Great Glen The greatest fisherman's friend you could wish for, has sadly passed away at Leicester Royal Infirmary on Sunday 5th April 2020 after a thankfully short battle with lung cancer. He reeled us all in with his cheeky smile and warm, generous personality. Nobody could tell a story as well as Steve!! He will be missed by so many of us who truly loved him. A celebration of Steven's life will be announced at a later date due to the COVID-19 restrictions. Keep safe love Elaine, Linda, Tom, Luke, Harvey & Dave. Yesterday was testament to the man my Dad was and with the amount of people that came to pay their respects under these circumstances I honestly can’t thank you enough. The support we received got all the family through this tough day and on a personal note my hardest day of my life. I would love to see all who knew Steve whether they came yesterday or not to join us for a celebration of life when this lockdown is over. I’ll put the date and venue on here when it’s organised. God bless you all and thanks again x

Steve was an absolute class man and a true gent. Can hear him saying. ‘Let me tell you son’. Or if you like a dabble with him - ‘Your on’ Rest in peace Steve, I will miss you terribly mate x

I have known Steve all his life. His dad was my dad's best man and his mum being my godmother.
We spent a lot of time while growing up spending many Christmas day teas together. We used to call his mum Mrs vim as she used to clean the sink so well.
His home was always so welcoming and always smelt of fresh ironing, oh and the very fat guinea pigs he had.
He first started fishing with my brother David and my brother had to put the maggots on the hooks for him as he hated doing that. Just to think what a great fisherman he became.
Just a few memories of his very early life.
Steve will be sorely missed.
Love to Elaine Tom Luke and Linda. X
