In Loving Memory of
David George Warner JP
(1933 – 2025)

It is with heartfelt respect and lasting gratitude that we honour the life of a truly outstanding man. David was not only my form teacher but also the proud and devoted godfather to my daughter, Krystle.

My journey into fatherhood began when I was just fifteen years old — a young age to take on such responsibility. But from the very beginning, Dave stood firmly by my side. He offered guidance when I needed it most, kindness without measure, and a steady strength that helped me find my way. As a Justice of the Peace and a gentleman of the highest integrity, he lived by example, teaching me what it means to be honourable, fair, and caring.

He was more than just a teacher or an official; he was a pillar of support, a trusted mentor, and a true friend to our whole family. His wisdom shaped my path, and his loving presence wrapped around Krystle like a shield. The generosity of spirit he showed us is something I will carry in my heart forever.

A man of high standing and an even greater heart. Thank you, Dave, for believing in me, for walking this journey with us, and for the love you gave so freely to me and to Krystle. You have left footprints on our lives that time will never erase.

Rest in eternal peace, dear friend and mentor. You are deeply missed, forever honoured, and always loved.

Although I only knew David for a short time, it was more than enough to recognise and deeply appreciate his passion and unwavering dedication to serving our community.

As a new Magistrate, I had the privilege of witnessing firsthand his commitment to ensuring that the Victoria Law Courts were accessible, understood, and welcoming to people from all walks of life. His vision and energy in this space were truly inspiring.

Seeing his leadership during the Mock Trials and Magistrates in the Community programs was particularly powerful. He had a remarkable ability to connect with and empower visitors with his experience and knowledge of the Judiciary and the Victoria Law Courts.

David’s legacy of service, integrity, and community spirit will undoubtedly endure. My thoughts are with his family at this time, as we honour and celebrate his life.

Whilst I only knew David for a short period as a Magistrate, he made a big impression.
He had a wealth of knowledge and plenty of anecdotes and he was always generous about sharing that knowledge.

He will be warmly remembered.
