GladysWATSONMrs Gladys Watson, of Stacksteads, Bacup, died at Hillview Nursing Home, Rawtenstall, on Sunday, April 25, aged 87. Gladys was employed in the cotton industry and show trade all of her working life, until retirement from McLeries at Bacup in the 1990s. She enjoyed knitting until a few years ago, and more recently loved to read her books. In the 1970s and 1980s, Gladys was Tawny Owl at Waterbarn Baptist Brownies in Stacksteads. She spent many happy times and pack holidays with them. Wife of the late Bob, who died in 2004, she leaves daughter Sandra, son-in-law Geoff, sister Betty, brother Roy, brother-in-law Alan, plus many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, large extended family, and dear friends, and not forgetting carers. The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 6, at 1pm at Hamers Chapel of Rest, then 1.45pm at Burnley Crematorium. No flowers please; donations if desired to Rossendale Hospice and the British Heart Foundation.
