Dr PeterWELLSPeter passed away on the morning of Friday 11th June 2021 at the Belong care home in Macclesfield. Loved Husband of Fidelma, loving Father of Mary and Oliver. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. As a doctor in charge of Macclesfield's Young People's Unit since its inception, he was able to help very many local adolescents in crisis over decades. He since went on to aid the Congleton based charity Visyon to provide further support to young people in the area. Before that, he helped set up the Richmond Fellowship which is a national mental health charity. Due to the current coronavirus restrictions a private family service will be held. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired will be sent to the charity Visyon.

I remember Dr Wells from the YPU in 1971 when, I think, the unit first opened. It was all very new then. He was well respected and I personally looked up to him as a man to be respected. It was sad to hear of his passing. I pray for all the family.

Dr Wells was the best Dr I have ever encountered. He helped all of us at YPU. I maintained contact with him for a few years during his declining health. I am so sorry for the families loss. He was a lovely, caring, gentle man. My thoughts are with you all.
