Margery ElaineWESTDied at Torbay Hospital, Torquay, at the age of 91. The funeral will be held at Torquay Crematorium on Wednesday 10 July at 2.30pm. All are welcome to attend. Family flowers only - donations, if desired, to British Heart Foundation. Please let the family know in advance if you wish to attend the afternoon tea that follows the service. Margery is greatly missed by her sister Mary, her nieces Rosemary and Elizabeth, her cousin Roger, and her many friends. The youngest daughter of a farmer in east Cornwall, Margery spent most of her working life as a secretary in the Admiralty, with tours in Tokyo, Paris and Washington DC, attached to the British Embassy. She was eventually awarded the Imperial Service Medal "for faithful service". After retiring, she was Secretary of the East Devon group of the Civil Service Pensioners' Alliance for ten years. In 2020, she published a book of her short stories and poems. Margery will be remembered for her vitality and humour, her love of theatre, writing and words, and her great love of cats.
