Alan LeslieWESTONA Life Well-Travelled (1942- 2024)
Born amidst the rumble of wartime London in 1942, Alan learned resilience from an early age. After his father, Leslie Weston, passed away fighting in the Second World War. At five, Alan and his mother, Mary Agnes Louise Papworth Twigg, decided to carve a new path in Nottingham.
His entrepreneurial spirit roared to life at 21 when he inherited JWQ Transport from his stepfather, Francis Noel Twigg. Along with his fleet of trucks, he travelled across Europe delivering laughter and cargo.
However, life was certainly not a smooth highway. The 1990s brought many storms, due to the recession, Alan's company went bankrupt, forcing him to lose his home and sadly, due to a stroke, his beloved mother passed away. But Alan wasn't built to stay parked. With faith and loved ones as his fuel, he charted a new course, brick by brick and was able to rebuild his future.
At the age of 81, Alan passed away peacefully in his family home. Join us to celebrate his life and legacy, knowing he now rest joyfully in God's Kingdom, the place we are all fighting to be.
