AnnWESTWOODWESTWOOD Suddenly but peacefully at the Southern General Hospital, Glasgow on Thursday 17th September 2009 Ann (nee Thornton) aged 62, beloved wife of Derek and loved by her sister Kay and brother John, much loved mother to Deirdre, Debbie, Naomi, Richard and Juliet, a special granny to Sharon, Daryl, Jordan, Justin and Cerys and a much loved aunt, she will be missed by all who knew and worked along side her. Funeral service to be held at 11am on Thursday 24th September at St Marnocks Church, Fowlis Easter, followed by a thanksgiving service at 3pm at the Kings Church Airbles. Motherwell. Family flowers only but there will be an oppertunity to donate to a named charity.

I am not sure if my previous message was sent. I was shocked and saddened to learn if Ann's death. I can still picture her as a bright, young blond student at Edinburgh University in 1965/6 with her singular accent (where did it come from?) head over heals in love with Derek and visiting our flat at 19 Bristo Place on numerous occasions. I met her again years later with her burgening family in her cottage outside of Blairgowrie with Derek. Ann was an important part of my life and I'll remember her always with pleasure.
