JeffreyWHATLINGMr Jeffrey Whatling, of Dale View, Rawtenstall, died on Thursday, June 4 at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, aged 75. Jeff was in shoe and slipper manufacturing as a sole layer and worked at JH Hirst Slipper Manufacturers for most of his working life, before retiring at Suttons, Bacup. He enjoyed music and football, was a former member of Greenfield Working Men’s Club and of Royal Buffaloes Grand Lodge of England. Husband to the late Valerie Whatling, he is survived by sister Joyce, daughter Bev, son Jason, son-in-law Ian, daughter-in-law Gail, grandchildren Shane, Rhys, Courtney Lea, Ben, Nathan and Brad, and great-grandchildren. The funeral was due to be held on Thursday, June 18 at Burnley Crematorium, led by Rev. David Burrow. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Rossendale Hospice.
