RobertWHEWELLMR Robert Whewell, of Richmond Crescent, died on Tuesday, March 3, aged 86. He was chief booking clerk at British Rail, did his National Service in the RAF, and served at Mountain Rescue Service RAF Valley. He played football, cricket for Lower Darwen, and was a member at Accrington Golf Club. He leaves wife Patricia, daughters Elizabeth and Bridget, was father-in-law of Stuart and Chris, and a much loved grandfather and great-grandfather. His funeral followed by cremation took place on Thursday, March 19 at 1.40pm at Accrington Crematorium, conducted by Fr Lawrence. Family flowers only, with donations to Macmillan Nurses.
