"Friend of many"......never a truer word. Gentlemanly and discreet when I needed the loo urgently one Goose Fair, Mansfield Road Baptist Church B&B Pea Stall, he was telepathic and whisked away in the direction for me to follow, no questions asked. What a lovely, kind man. Gentle humour, quiet spirit. I will never forget Ray's help that evening.
Inscribed on my heart, ever grateful.

Uncle Ray was such a lovely man and big part of my life when I would visit Mansfield Road. He was always there with a huge ‘proper’ hug and a big kiss always making you feel special and loved. Such a lovely man and a huge loss to our lives.
My thoughts are with you all and I am devastated that I couldn’t attend his funeral today but I was thinking about you all.
Lots of love Ruth xx

Ray was a gentleman. My first memory of him I must have been 10 at Girls Brigade. But over the many many years he would always come and give me a peck on the cheek and ask how I was.
I am sorry I can’t pay respects at the funeral and give my support to Pat, Sara, and Nicola and family but you will be in my thoughts and prayers now and in the coming months. Jakki x

I think I would have been about 15 when I first met Ray, it was probably through Nottingham Rock. Our paths crossed many times over the years but I didn't really get to know him properly until Gary and I got together. Then he became 'Uncle Ray' and I was lucky enough to get to know what a lovely man he was. I was usually greeted with 'shut up noisy' followed by a hug. RIP Uncle Ray xx

Anita Needham. Ray was very kind to me one Goose Fair, several years ago. Not being very well, he thoughtfully and swiftly showed me the directions to the loo at Mansfield Road Baptist Church.....discretely and calmly.....no fuss or advertising! It was very much appreciated at the time, and since. I know you will be sorely missed by all those who loved you, family and friends, and knew you for so many years. God Bless, Ray.
