MaureenWHITTAKER, of Percy Street, West End, Oswaldtwistle, passed away in East Lancs Hospice on Monday, September 30, aged 82. Maureen left school and started her working life at Enfield Mill as weaver. Following on from this she became a shop assistant at Woolworths for 16 years until her retirement. Upon her retirement she worked at Oswaldtwistle Mills in a part time position for five years. In Maureen's spare time she loved nothing more than having days out and spending time with her family. She enjoyed knitting and also dancing. Maureen was a much loved mum to her three children Trevor, Michelle and Gareth, a loving grandma and greatgrandma. Maureen's funeral service was held at Accrington Crematorium on Friday, October 11 at 11.40am. The service was conducted by Mr David S Thomas (Life Celebrant).
