PatriciaWHITWORTHIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pat, who returned to the loving arms of God on February 9th, 2023, at the age of 88. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion that will continue to inspire those who knew her. Born in Birmingham, England in 1935, Pat discovered her passion for teaching and travel at a young age. She graduated from Reading University in 1957 with her teaching certification and a Bachelor of Arts degree, with Honours in Latin. Pat's journey of teaching and inspiring others began when she moved to Canada in 1959, after falling in love with the country during her travels throughout North America. Pat dedicated 35 years of her life to teaching in the Langley School District. Her love for education and passion for mentorship made her an inspiration to countless students, teachers, and colleagues. She encouraged and enabled others to pursue their passions and was always ready with words and deeds of support. Pat's strong faith was an integral part of her life. She lived with kindness, compassion, and love towards others, and her actions reflected her unwavering belief in these values. Her family was her top priority, and she instilled these values in them. They will carry on her legacy by spreading love and kindness to others. Pat was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Jennie, her sister Rosemary, and her nephew Benji. She is survived by her three Godchildren, Flora, David, and Rodger, their wives Yolanda and Melanie, their mother Kathy, and their children Jasmine, Harmony, Noah, Aurora, Rayn, Anton, Austin, Hudson, Ava, and Arlow. Pat also leaves behind her sister Ruth, brothers Peter, Roy, and Paul, their wives Leslie and Kathryn, and her nieces and nephews David, Matthew, David, Emma, Rachel, Jemima, Timothy, and Elizabeth. Pat's life touched the hearts of all those who knew her, and her presence will be deeply missed. Her love, generosity, patience, and selflessness will forever be remembered by those whose lives she blessed. May she rest in peace in the loving embrace of God. Pat's Celebration of Life will be held in Canada, but live streamed for international friends at family members at www.patriciawhitworth.com The service begins at 11:00am PST on Friday, April 21st, 2023.
