Martin taught me maths and rugby. It was 45 years ago but he was so charismatic our chats seem like yesterday. Thank you Martin.

Sad to hear of Wiggys death, but great memories of a top bloke. Loved the rugby days with him and Sam Coyne at Cardinal Langley. Wish I could be there to share stories and raise a glass to the man. Have to make do with sitting in the Australian sun and thinking how lucky I was to have met and been taught by one of the best.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Wilde. He was a lovely man and a great teacher. He was always full of fun and so made maths fun and easy. He was one of the greats. Helen Kelly- student 1983-1990

My Sincere sympathies and condolences to Carol and the family.
It was always a pleasure to catch up with Martin, especially at Rochdale RUFC in recent years. Aside from introducting me to rugby Martin tried to teach me maths and how to use a slide rule. I still can't count or use the slide rule which I have to this day. Happily, Martin later taught my daughter Rachael, a far more willing and able pupil, who went on to her a maths PhD. Forever grateful, Martin.

So sorry for you and your family at the loss of Marrin. He taught me to play rugby in Cardinal Langley and also took me to the Greater Manchester Schools Athletics championships. A great teacher and a lovely man. RIP Wiggy 🙏🏻

Paul and Keith, so sorry to hear about your dad. I have such great memories of 'Wiggy', and of sport at Cardinal Langley, both serious and fun, the latter often with you two hanging about. I can hear his laugh now. R.I.P Martin. Brendan and Jane Coogan
