Ronald WilliamWILKINSAfter an illness bravely borne, Ron passed away peacefully at Scunthorpe General Hospital with his family by his side, on 9th October, aged 71 years. Loving husband to Marie, devoted dad to Adele and Rob, father-in-law to Rachel and John, and adored grandad to Ollie, Tom, Bobby and Lily, brother and brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many. A service to celebrate Ron's life will be held at St Mary's Church, Broughton on Friday 21st October at 1pm, followed by an interment at Broughton Cemetery. Family flowers only please, but donations in Ron's memory will be collected for Lindsey Lodge Hospice and can be left following the service or sent c/o J Naylor Funeral Directors Comforts Avenue, Scunthorpe DN15 6PN Tel (01724) 280082 -

So sorry to hear about Ron. He was a lovely man, very affable and always willing to help. I knew him from the steelworks, especially when he became a works guide. Moreover, if circumstances had been different I had planned to join his team as a fellow works guide.

The connection didn’t end there and after some discussion it emerged that my wife used to teach his daughter - it’s a small world!

My thoughts are with his family and close friends at this most saddest of times.

Sincere condolences to Ron's family. Ron was a smashing fellow who helped me to settle in a job on the steelworks. Always had a smile and will be sadly missed by all.x
