Dorothy RosinaWILLIAMSNee Sweetman DOROTHY, born January 2nd, 1935, in Cardiff, passed away peacefully on April 12th, 2019, at Regency House Care Home, Cardiff. She is survived by her twin sons, Stephen and Niall. In 1955, Dorothy married Colin Bernard Williams in Splott, Cardiff and together they became very successful Ballroom and Latin American dance champions, representing Great Britain in the Champion of Champions team on the international stage. In 1966, they started up their own dancing school in Bridgwater, Somerset and the business went from strength to strength. Running the business, they not only taught tens of thousands of adults and children to dance but also hosted wedding receptions and provided restaurant, bar and dance facilities to club members every weekend. In 1984, they sold the business and returned to their roots and set up home in Barry, South Wales. In 2000, Colin died of cancer and Dorothy lost her soul mate and best friend. This was a horrendous wrench for Dorothy as they had been together 24 hours a day, 7 days a week since 1966. Dorothy channelled her energy into voluntary work, and with a nod to her loving Colin, she worked in charity shops for City Hospice (formerly George Thomas Hospice Care) which specialises in providing specialist care for those with cancer or life-limiting conditions. Paying tribute to their mother, Stephen and Niall, said: "Since dad died in 2000, mum has just wanted to be with dad. Although we miss her dearly, she is at peace now and where she has wanted to be these past 19 years, with her soul mate." Funeral service to take place on Tuesday 30 April at Thornhill Crematorium, in the Wenallt Chapel at 11am. Family flowers only please donations in lieu for the Alzheimer's Society either directly or via the funeral company. All enquiries to Green Willow Funerals, 31-33 St Isan Rd, Heath, Cardiff, CF14 4LU. Tel: (029) 20755 555.
