JackWOLFENDENMr Jack Wolfdenden, of Meadow Court, Oswaldtwistle, died peacefully on Thursday, March 3, aged 94. Jack had a shop in Oswaldtwistle for some years selling fish, fruit, and vegetables. He also worked for some time as a steel fabricator at Rothwell Engineering, and also for a number of years he was a retained fireman at Oswaldtwistle Fire Station. Jack enjoyed entertaining, dancing, and regular holidays. He loved watching football, was a keen gardener, and was very handy at DIY. Jack was the loving husband of the late Verda, and close companion of Gertrude. He was the devoted father of Stephen, John, and the late Peter, dear father-in-law of Eileen and Kerry, cherished grandad of Beth, great-grandad of Levi, Lucy, Lauren, Isaac, and Cormac, and great, great-grandad of Jack, Winnie, Wilma, and Oliver. Requiem Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 23, at 10am at St Mary’s RC Church, Oswaldtwistle, led by Fr Sean O’Brien, followed by cremation at Accrington Crematorium at 11.40am. Family flowers only, with donations if desired to Milly’s Smiles c/o funeral director Hyndburn Funeral Services, Accrington.
