Ruth Ann MargaretWOODPassed away peacefully in hospital between her daughters Ruth and Jane at 4.45am on 27th January aged 91 years. Beloved wife of the late Ray, devoted grandmother to Andrew, Clare, Thomas and Charlotte and proud great grandmother to Nicolas and Rosie. Ruth was a much loved person who has many friends and family who will sorely miss her. Please meet for the funeral service at Whitley Bay Crematorium on Thursday 16th February at 1.30pm. Ruth wood was my first head teacher when i started my teaching career at Bolam Street infants school in Byker in 1977. She was a lovely lady and a wonderful headteacher. The things that she taught me about teaching, stayed with me throughout my time as a teacher and her wisdom and wise approach to education, have stood the test of time.
Ruth, had a great sense of humour and fun, and she was a pleasure to be around. I will never forget her school assemby about Greyfriars Bobby, one of her favourite stories to tell the children.
I will always remember Ruth with fondness and gratitude. My thoughts are with her family and friends.
