Peter was my mentor. I have a lot to thank him for. In 1967 I had just finished my apprentice at the post and mail as a camera operator. In the August I was approached by his deputy Bill Carradine, another man who I am eternally grateful too, to see if I would be interested in joining Peter's team reproducing early newspaper colour work of which the Biringham Post and Mail were certainly leaders in the field at that time - thanks to Peter. I jumped at the chance and for the next 15 years Peter's team won many awards in newspaper colour reproduction not only in this country but in the western world. Peter was a perfectionist. 99% was not good enough it had to 100%. This made me realise that if you going to do a job right, do it right in every way from the start through every element. Peter, it's taken me 7 years since your passing to write this, but all I know is that since those early years you gave me an opportunity of a lifetime which I thank you for. God Bless you and thank you, Dave Bruton.
