SusanWOODCOCKSusan Woodcock, of St Leger Court, Accrington, passed away peacefully in hospital on Thursday, December 24, aged 70. After leaving school at the age of 15, Susan went to work at the cotton mill in Rosegrove. In the 80s she worked at Joseph Arnold’s. She also worked as a sewing machinist in various places, including Karrimor, Simon Jersey and Victoria Linen. In her spare time she took pleasure in doing sewing and alterations for neighbours and friends. She also made clothing for people, including bridesmaid and wedding dresses for her daughters. She was a keen supporter of animal charities and also enjoyed going ten pin bowling with her late husband Alan. They were part of the league at Accrington Superbowl. She sadly leaves behind her much loved daughters Janet and Lynne and sons-in-law Shaun and Philip, her treasured grandchildren Abbie, Katie, Gabrielle and Cameron, her dearly loved sisters Vivienne and Anne, and nephew Michael. Her funeral service will take place at 11am on Monday, January 11 at Accrington Crematorium, for family and close friends only due to the current restrictions. Family flowers only please, but donations are welcomed for the Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary and may be made by phone, by post, or by envelope drop off at the funeral home (Accrington or Oswaldtwistle). Funeral director: Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, Oswaldtwistle.
