WilliamWOODSPassed away peacefully, age 90 on Saturday 23rd March 2024. Formerly a pupil of St. Sylvester's school. Loved his football and LFC, representing Liverpool School Boys in his early years and later his country as a Paratrooper. Went on to fifty years as a painter and decorator. Staunch trade unionist and advocate for justice and fairness. On retirement developed his love of writing and storytelling, contributing to community papers such as 'Scottie Press'. A cherished family man, loyal, honorable, kind and compassionate. Beloved Husband of Lou, much loved Dad to Susan and Robert, Father-in-law to Peter & Anna. Adored Grandad to Nancy, Helen, Annie and Deion; Great Grandad to Aria, Harvey and Betsy. Always in our hearts. Funeral service to take place at Anfield Crematorium on 5th April 2024 at 10am. Family flowers only however donations welcome in William's memory to be made to Dementia Action Liverpool.
