'Grandpa Bill' was the loveliest man to my family when we were growing up in Stockton-on-Tees. Pam and Bill were so caring, loving and had so much energy! I loved our times together picking an egg cup from the thousands he displayed around his house; I loved our sleepovers, the games we played and the room with the round window (I'm still scared of the portrait at the top of the stairs though); I loved our times together up at Seahouses and celebrating birthdays and events together.
Thank you for everything that you gave us as kids.
Love Tim x

Tribute to Canon Bill Wright from Jackie and Richard Randerson in New Zealand. We spent a year in 1970/71 Stockton working with Bill in the Teeside industrial mission. We were followed there by Pat and the late Bruce Gilberd, also from New Zealand. Bill and Pam were generous hosts who later visited New Zealand where Bill ran seminars on industrial mission. Bill's boundless energy and creative thanking made a huge difference to all who knew him and his work with industry, business headers, trade unions and headmasters did much to enhance the wellbeing of life and work on Teesside and beyond .May he and Pam rest in peace in God’s loving care.

What an amazing man our 'grandpa' Bill. So warm, kind and welcoming. He was a large part of our lives as children, through the teens, and into Adult. We moved down south but incredibly our vicar allowed Bill to be involved in our wedding service.
He was a great man

Bill was one of the loveliest people I have ever met. I have fond memories of Sundays at Stockton Parish Church, always a bonus when Bill took the service.
