Anthony RussellWRIGHTIt is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony Wright, aged 87 years, peacefully in his sleep at home on 22nd February 2024.
Much loved husband to Winifred and devoted dad to Mandy, Tony and Leanne. Adored grandad to Heather and husband Anthony and Rachel and partner Liam. Loving great grandad to Lucas and Sophie.
Reunited now with mum Queenie, dad Jack and all his brothers and sisters: Nancy, Jackie, Evvie, Norma, Betty, Doris, Charlie, Peter, Barbie, Danny, Michael and Paula.
The last of his siblings to go, Tony will be deeply missed by all their sons and daughters, as well as Leanne's partner, Charlie.
Though he lived outside the city for almost 60 years, Tony was born and bred in Liverpool, where his heart always remained.
"What! You're a sunflower! How I shall miss you When you've grown golden and high! But I shall send all the bees up to kiss you; Little brown brother, good-bye".
Cremation service to be held at Howe Bridge Crematorium, Lovers' Lane, Atherton, Manchester, M46 0PZ on Thursday 21st March at 3:00pm.
There will be a wake afterwards at Six Six Three Bar and Restaurant, 663 Atherton Road, Hindley Green, Wigan WN2 4SD.
