Goodbye Nanna,

You were such a kind and wonderful person who touched everyone’s life in many ways.

One of the things that stood out was your delicious apple pies. Your pies were a staple of our family gatherings, and we all looked forward to them with great anticipation. No one else can make apple pies quite like you, and your recipe will be cherished and passed down for generations to come. Although my mum’s homemade pies are indigestible…

We loved you so much that we decided to name our daughter after you. When they first met, only 6 months ago, it was an incredible experience for everybody. Seeing the two of you together was like looking at a reflection of the past and the future. It was clear that our daughter had inherited your kind heart, warm smile, and love for life.

May you rest in peace in heaven with Grandad, Ber & Ged.

I will cherish all the memories we have shared over the years. We would be so excited when you and Grandad came to Calella with us at Easter for many years. We watched some cracking films like Double Jeopardy and endless Emmerdale and Corrie in the evenings. In the day, Ben, Jack and I would drag you to the large rocks off the beach to sunbathe. I remember when you were resting your feet in sea and a rockcrab came up next to you and nearly nipped you. Or when Grandad tanned half his face, or when Ben jumped out from the wardrobe when you were about to go to sleep. We had such a laugh about that.

I used to get so excited when you and Grandad came round for lunch at my Mum and Dads and you’d have a little sherry and lemonade of course. You’d always make 2 apple pies. One for the family and one for Jack because we loved it so much!
I’m so happy you got to meet Ava and will cherish the Mondays we would visit you on my maternity leave.

Thanks for being the best Nanna in the world.

Gone but never forgotten.
RIP Nanna. Love you always xx

Nana, you really were the most selfless, kind and loving person anyone could wish to meet. I have endless loving childhood memories of you and grandad, from summers staying over at 265, to winning the European cup in ‘99 - with you and grandad dancing round the living room. In more recent times it meant the world to Sharon and I, watching you form a close bond with, Harry. We will cherish those memories.
Rest easy now, Nana.

You will be missed so much but we hope you are now at peace and holding hands with dad in heaven with Ber and Ged as well . Love you forever. Liz xxx
