IrisYARKEROBITUARY Peacefully on 18th January 2023 in hospital. Iris aged 77 years of Clitheroe and formerly of Accrington. The dearly loved wife of Francis, much loved mum of David and Antony, loving step-mum of Beverly and Tracy, dear mother-in-law of Janette, Stephanie, Julian and Dean, dearest nana of Lucas, Oliver, Charlotte, Saul, Safira, Jodie and Callum, devoted great-nana to Luna, loved sister of May and Paul, Eddie and Gareth, also a dear auntie of Simone, Zoie, Leah, Seth, Donna and Elouise, loved great-aunt of Bailey, Tia, Zoie, Jack, Maddison, Alfie, Olivia, Leah, Nicole, Kurt, Esmae, Riley, Emma and Luna. Iris sadly lost her Mum at a young age and became the adult figure in guiding her two sisters from teenage to adult lives. Iris then met Peter Clark (sadly passed) and raised two sons, David & Antony. Iris worked in and around Clitheroe in the textile industry, Rectella and Flexible Reinforcements. Iris then met Francis (Frank) and his daughters Beverly and Tracy. They then left Clitheroe to move to Batley, West Yorkshire to become a landlady with Frank at The George Hotel and then onto Selby, North Yorkshire for their last public house, The Station Inn. With a move back to Lancashire, Barnoldswick and a further stint in the textile industry at Coats Viella. Iris and Frank then took early retirement and moved to Spain and lived in the Andalucía region for 12 years. They returned to Clitheroe, back to grass roots in 2013 and carried on enjoying life in retirement, getting to see the children, grand children and recently great grandchild growing up. Sadly Iris passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside in Blackburn Hospital on the 18th January 2023. She will be sadly missed by all the hearts that she touched with her presence. Reposing in ‘Peacehaven’ Chapel of Rest. Service and cremation will take place at Skipton Crematorium on Tuesday 31st January at 10am. Family flowers only please, donations in memory of Iris, if desired, are invited for the R.S.P.C.A. and may be given via this website or to a family member. Aunty Iris was always loving and considerate - as well as good at sewing! She made all of my children duvet cover sets at different times - even Malachi who arrived so much later - which they all loved and enjoyed much more because they were made specially for them. She will always be in our hearts.
