James AndrewYATESPassed away at the Royal Preston Hospital on February 13, aged 61 years. Known as Andrew, he was born in Blackburn and spent the majority of his life living in Oswaldtwistle. He grew up in a loving home with his many siblings on Rhyddings Street, which he spoke of with the fondest memories. He had many different vocations throughout his life but spent a large amount of time working at Calderstones Hospital before becoming a car salesman and more recently a sales coach at Perry’s. Andrew loved watching sports, particularly football, cricket and golf, and was a lifelong supporter of Burnley Football Club, a trait which he passed onto his two sons. He enjoyed singing and specialised in the music of the Rat Pack. He was the loving partner of Julie Foster, father of Ruby Yates, Charlie Yates, Matthew Yates and Lucy Gregory, grandfather of Alfie Gregory and Oliver Gregory and a brother and uncle to many. The funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, March 3 at St Mary’s Church, Oswaldtwistle, followed by a committal at Accrington Crematorium. No flowers please, donations in memory of Andrew to Prostate Cancer UK, c/o Hyndburn Funeral Services, Queens Road, Accrington. All further enquiries, tel 01254 233133.
