Maureen JoanYOUNGBorn 20 February 1932, passed away on Monday 24 January 2022, aged 89 years old. She passed away after a recent painful fall but has been battling Dementia for a few years. She was much loved by her husband Norman for the past 70 years, and married to him for 68 years. Also, much loved by her sons Stephen (now deceased) and David, his wife Susan and their 4 sons Oliver, Toby, Sam & Elliot. Maureen retired from Plaistow Infants School, St. Budeaux in 1997 and will be fondly remembered by her colleagues and students. She also made many friends from her active social life including her membership of the Inner Wheel Club of Plymouth, amongst the families of Plymouth Catenians, and the residents and staff of Edgcumbe Court retirement village. Latterly she was cared for by the wonderful team at Greenacres Care Centre, Plymouth. Her funeral will be held at St. Peter's RC Church, Crownhill, Plymouth on Tuesday 8th February at 10.00am, followed by a short service at Weston Mill Crematorium, to which friends and family are invited from 11.30am. There will be a celebration of her life back at Edgcumbe Court, Durnford Street, Plymouth from 12.30pm to which everyone is also invited. Family flowers only please but donations would be appreciated towards the REACCH Project South West CIC , where Mary & her team were so supportive of Stephen in his later years.
