Peter JYOUNGSuddenly at home on 15th September 2023 aged 77 years. Adored husband, dad, grandad, brother and uncle.

A celebration of Pete's life will be held at Sherwood Forest Crematorium on Monday 2nd October at 2pm. Please wear casual clothing - Western wear, jeans, tracksuits, Stetsons, trainers, boots - whatever you feel comfortable in.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu of flowers for RNLI and British Red Cross may be left in the collection container following the service; sent to

I just received the sad news about Pete, he and I were very good guitar picking and singing partners throughout the 1970’s and 80’s, we recorded many country songs together and he helped me enormously with my own career in country music. For years I have had part of my wall in my music studio in Malvern adorned with photos and recordings I had made with him over the years. He is a great loss to the world of British Country Music……. I watched Big Pete 30 odd years ago each summer at The Louth in Mablethorpe. He led to my life long love of country music. Strangely, yesterday (2nd) I was thinking of him and telling my husband about him fondly, singing him some of the songs that I remember so well from his well worn cassette. I googled him and saw the sad news. How apt that yesterday I was thinking about him. Thanks Pete. From all my family x
