I can’t begin to describe how utterly bereft I feel losing Jane. I can barely remember a time when she wasn’t in my life arguing about absolutely everything from the pros and cons of music to politics and DIY. I’ll miss her dry wit, her practical help and advice and those goosebump inducing links to musical finds that used to ping into my mailbox .. like I used to love her long letters dropping through my door. Jane was there for all the big moments of my life and I hope I was there for hers, good and bad. I’ll never forget how she turned out to search for our Ewan. She was the sister I never had telling me the truth without sugar coating and giving me confidence to go for it. Getting to play samba with her was a pretty recent unexpected joy. I could see her light up that time she helped steward the whitley carnival parade when she saw the samba drummers. Jane threw herself into it as she did everything. Tenacious, stubborn, determined, funny beautiful friend I saw her and I know she saw me. I was so lucky to have had her in my life. 56 years just wasn’t enough. One of these days I’ll find out who was right about what’s next x

My beautiful Jane, what will I do without you? Thank you for the 35 years you spent by my side, first as my partner and then as my wife. You enriched my life in so many ways and your passing has left a huge void in my heart and in my life which can never be filled.

(From Jane's husband Peter)
