On the 80th anniversary of VE Day mum I have kept my promise to you to keep our name in the papers. Article and pictures in the Glasgow Times on 6 May. Still flying the flag and fighting the good fight and keeping the Royal Burgh's name alive.
Thanks for the memories. All the stories you told us as we were growing up and then in 2005 we turned it into a book you and I and I will never forget your face when I gave you the first copy. You were in hospital and so proud to show it off to all the nurses.

Ten years ago today I was speaking and singing in Rutherglen Library -the same place that dad went to every night , copied poems out of books and wrote you a love letter when you were courting. I wrote about that too in "Dorothy Will always Remember That Special Landemer Day."

Until We Meet Again mum. All missions accomplished ma'am. All present and correct. That's what I had to say when I came back in even just from the shops and salute! You then said "at ease Connor, dismiss!" Dad always used military language too. When I had been somewhere and came back home he would say "right Connor, report, report!". When you wanted us to help with tidying up you would say "right, action stations!" Then we had to run and get on with getting things done. Oh the memories and all the love bound up in all of them. I miss you all so much not just today but always.

Love always and forever Dorothyxxx

I love you so."

Only you and I know all the special things that happened and how you and Dad and Douglas have kept all your promises to me and to one another.
Love you always and forever, lots and lots, dot and spots.
