Aged 94, lately of Fleet Park and formerly of Belper Lane, peacefully, after a short illness and lots of care from Derby General, Babington, Ada Belsfield and the many carers-in-the-commun ity who carefully tended her over the last few months. Beloved sister of the late Charles, the late Win and the late Cyril. A loving aunt to 11 nieces and nephews, a wonderful great-aunt to 21 great-nieces and great-nephews and a caring great-great-aunt to a great-great-niece and 2 great-great-nephews. For many years, Edith was a midwifery sister at Babington Hospital in the '50s and '60s and then a loyal Oxfam helper after her retirement. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and the many neighbours and friends who befriended her over the years. Funeral service at Belper Congregational Church, Church Walk, Belper at 12noon Friday July 18th 2003, followed by interment at Belper Cemetery, Broadholme, Matlock Road, Belper at 12.45pm and then afterwards at The Lion, Bridge Street, Belper from 1.15pm.
