Fifty years ago on Monday I started work at the Midland Bank in Liscard, Wallasey and met Mr Donnelly for the first time. I have fond memories of him, his encouragement in my career and guidance in taking my banking exams. Fifty years later we still exchanged Christmas cards. My love and prayers go out to Liz.
