I knew Bernard from my time swimming at Grimsby Leisure Centre. He always liked to chat about his gardening, growing vegetables and cooking nice meals. He was an inspiration to anyone in the pool who couldn't find the motivation to swim. He had slowed down a little in his later times, but he still put the distance in every day and out-swum everyone else in the pool. He will be greatly missed by many and I will think of him every time I swim. I am still eating the Sainsburys oven chips cooked in beef dripping that he recommended to me.

Sincere condolences to all of Bernard's family and friends from Gary Suiter XX

Sadly missed, we couldn't have wished for better neighbours like Bernard & Ruby. I will miss the many chats over the fence, exchanging plants & of all the great advice he gave me over growing vegetables. A true gentleman. R. I. P Bernard now reunited with your darling Ruby. Sincere condolences from Ann & Michael xx
