Eric was a rare kind of man. He was just thoroughly decent, through and through. He was a loving, caring man, who never had a selfish thought. He was the best kind of person, a tribute to his generation and history. Eric loved God and everyone around him, always willing to serve others. He is what we all aspire to be like, he was a role model and an inspiration to all who knew him. I'll always laugh when remembering how he called 19th-century compositions 'modern music'! It was a blessing and an honour to have known him. I will long remember his selflessness, kindness, goodness and faithfulness. May he rest in peace. We will miss you, Eric.
