Des, will be so so missed!!!
My first meeting meeting of Des . Des came to pick Pat up from the hairdressers, they were going for a night out. Pat was wearing a red, l think, oriental dress. I remember Des's face beaming when he saw her, Pat looked great.
Des was our local Bobby who l used to see patrolling Holywell streets on my nights out. "Be good" he would say.
I was always made welcome by both Des's and Pats's family when l became Pat's apprentice.
I would totally agree with Adams amazing eulogy, Des was not judgemental of any mistakes l made. But always there if l needed a listening ear.
We often enjoyed our love of shooting. Des was chuffed when Katie took this up also. I will miss our target sessions in the garden.
My kids also loved Des's lawnmower rides, they couldn't stop laughing and grinning.
I also remember Des's wicked sense of humour. His rejected message he put in his sandwich tin, sorry Pat.
I do remember the time Des fell through the roof, his leg was a mess. A desk job was not and would never be for Des. However Neil has very fond memories of meeting him for drinks while recuperating in Harrogate, Des was Neil's pass.
There are so many fond memories. Family events always full of laughter.
I know Des was incredibly proud of his family. l believe he also thought this was his greatest acheivement.
Pat, Adam, Charlotte and their families could not have done any more for Des, you could see the love and desperation in thinking they could do more.
I know Des will be so proud.
We will so miss you, we will have you always in our hearts and thoughts
