WENDY ANN PLIMLEYAged 62 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday 30 November 2011 whilst at home in Grays Wood, Horley, Surrey . She was born in West Bromwich on 23 July 1949 and, after leaving King Edwards Grammar School, graduated from University of Birmingham School of Dentistry in 1971. Wendy obtained her Master of Science in Health Education with distinction from London University in 1989. As a community dentist, spending her early career working for Sandwell Health Authority in the West Midlands, she visited schools in a portable clinic and treated children. In 1990, Wendy moved to Maidstone and worked as a Senior Dental Officer for the West Kent Primary Care Dental Service, retiring in July 2009. She enjoyed very close friendships with the staff at Foster Street and Paddock Wood clinics. Since retirement, Wendy has been involved in voluntary work with the RSPB and Citizens Advice Bureau. She was a keen sailor and owned a yacht together with her partner, John Ivory, who survives her. She loved bird watching and walking, and, over the years, has climbed many famous mountains in Alaska, Kenya and Argentina.
