Dearly beloved son of the late Harry and Doris, a dear cousin, good friend and neighbour.
John was a retired schoolteacher, a keen crown green bowler and gardener.
A funeral service will take place at Highfield Funeral Home, Trinity Street, Huddersfield on Friday 20th June at 12.30pm, followed by a private cremation.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, will be for Kirkwood Hospice.
