Although you are my grandad,
you were also more to me:
a best friend, a marvellous man,
and someone I aspire to be.

When I was small you took the time
to bounce me on your knee,
winking at me to make me laugh—
you always made me so happy.

As I grew older you were always there,
I only had to call;
I knew that I could talk to you
about anything at all.

Like what the dogs were up to,
any birds I’d seen that day,
stories from your childhood,
or: “Who wrote the song ‘Yesterday’?”

No matter what we talked about,
it would always make me feel good;
your words would wrap around me
like a great big lovely hug.

I love you so much Grandad,
and I will never stop missing you.
It will never feel right not to have you in my life,
but I know you would not want me to stay blue.

So when I stop in the street to say hello to a dog,
and spot a buzzard above me in the sky,
Or if I see a red red robin (bob bob bobbing!)
I will think of you Grandad, and know you are nearby.

Sleep peacefully now Grandad ❤️ I love you so much and I’m so proud to be your granddaughter. I will always think of you, especially whenever I’m watching/learning about any animals (I got my love of animals from you!) or if I’m watching The Chase or listening to 1960s music! Thank you for everything you taught me and for all of the lovely memories. I will miss you so much. Lots of love from Rebekah xxxxxxx

To the best dad anyone could have wished for.
Memories of a very proud son watching you play cricket and football for north cave. Especially the big 6s you smacked into the vicarage garden&some amazing catches.
Memories from visiting Cheltenham festival together singing ring of fire will never be forgotten.
Thanks for makeing me the sportsman I became- very competitive was my best asset.
The lotion we shifted watching sport together started at a early age watching the facup final with couple of longlifes.
I just hope I am half as strong as you have been the past 5 years- unbelievable really. And luckily still got the video forever of our final laughs together- even tho you were so poorly you still made me cry with laughter.
MY MATES were always YOUR MATES and I know they will all be truly heartbroken on this sad news.
I PROMISE I WILL LOOK AFTER MUM AND FI.
your absolute heartbroken son shaun xxxxx

There is not a day that goes by when I don’t think about you dad,
Remembering all the moments we shared together, the good times that we had,
I love you and I miss you every single day,
I was left broken hearted when the angels took you away,
Sleep peacefully now dad, you deserve a good rest,
It is true what they say, God only takes the best.

Love you forever, Fiona xxx

I am going to miss you Phil, remembering all the good laughs we had on holidays, the banter at the football and the drams of whisky we shared together!
You were the perfect father-in-law,
Rest in peace mate, love Wayne x

It’s been the hardest thing to lose you,
You meant so much to me,
You are in my heart forever Phil, that’s where you will always be,
I know that heaven called you, I wish you could’ve stayed,
The lovely memories I have of you they will never fade,
I did not want to lose you but you did not go alone,
Part of me went with you when the angels called you home,
Please remember one thing, we are not apart,
You are with me in my lovely memories and in my broken heart.

God bless you Phil, remembering all the love and good times we had in our 64 years together,
Love you and miss you so very much, your everloving wife of 57 years Pam xxx
Rest in peace xxx
