Sadly the great Referee in the sky blew his whistle with no extra time. We will miss David's astute football knowledge (even though he supported Arsenal!), but especially his friendship for over 60 years. May he rest in peace. Peter and Dorothy Wilde

We at Evesham Referees' Association will miss David he was an inspiration to all of us and up till recently was still turning out to run the line into his 80's. His feat just last season to watch FA Cup games in every round was amazing. He had a great knowledge of both Football and cricket and in conversations many of us had with him this came across he remembered everything! So farewell to our friend, we send our condolences to his family and friends RIP David.
