There’s a bite of cold in the air, the nights are pulling in and trees are starting to lose their leaves. This can only mean one thing: autumn is upon us. In this post we’ll look at 10 things to look forward to in autumn.

Changing trees
Trees are beautiful this time of year, with their leaves changing from green to gold, amber and scarlet, getting ready to eventually drop from the trees, adding a crunch underfoot.

Autumn Walks
Wrapping yourself up in warm clothes and venturing out into the cool autumn weather is one of the best things about autumn. Regular walks are also beneficial to our mental health.

Cosy Clothes
It’s time to dig out your dressing gown and slippers, woolly jumpers, thick socks, hats and scarves to prepare for the coming cold weather.

Comfort food
Autumn is a time for casseroles and roasts, crumbles and puddings, basically anything to fill our bellies and warm us up from the inside.

Scented candles
Darker nights mean more opportunities to light any scented candles you may have lying around (or an excuse to buy more!). There are so many autumn scents to choose from at this time of year.

Extra hour in bed
The clocks go back at the beginning of autumn, meaning an extra hour in bed to help us get used to the cold, dark mornings.

Cosy nights in
Autumn is the perfect time to have a cosy night in; light some candles and get comfy on the sofa with a blanket while you watch a film.

Hot chocolate
Hot chocolate is the perfect drink for cold weather and dark nights; comforting and delicious, especially with some marshmallows on top.

Halloween
Carve a pumpkin, get a costume, and make sure your house is stocked with sweets - it’s nearly time for the spookiest holiday of the year.

The start of the festive season
Halloween kicks off the festive season, closely followed by Bonfire night, eventually leading up to Christmas. Christmas markets will spring up everywhere during autumn, and they’re great to get you in the festive spirit.

Thank you for reading, I hope I’ve given you some things to look forward to in autumn.
