It seems just like yesterday the new version of our website went live, but on 1st August 2019 the site celebrated its 1st birthday in its new home.

Funeral-notices.co.uk has been 130 years in the making. There has been an online platform for funeral notices published by our company (now named Reach PLC) for 15 years, but notices were published across different websites depending on the area they were published in. On 1st August 2018 our new website went live, creating a place for all of our notices to be together in one place.

Funeral-notices.co.uk hosts all death notices, memoriams and birthday memoriams, and acknowledgement notices that are printed in our publications. All notices turn into Lasting Tribute pages after 8 weeks on the site, creating a place for their memory to live on forever. Visitors can light candles, leave tributes, and add photos and memories to the tribute pages of their lost loved ones, essentially personalising the lasting tribute page to suit their loved one.

In the year since the website went live, there have been over 11 million visitors, with over 59,000 candles lit and more than 51,000 tributes left on notices.

We have recently started offering online only Lasting Tribute notices; although all notices eventually become lasting tribute pages, we wanted something to cater for those who just want somewhere to be able to remember their loved one, for them to be able to create a lasting tribute page on the site and personalise it themselves.

We have also recently began to include charitable donations on each funeral notice that goes up on our site, allowing friends and family to donate quickly and easily on their loved one’s notice, completely free of charge.

Another new feature of the site is the blog, which has been set up in order to provide further information and support to the visitors who use our site.

Thanks for reading.
