Here at funeral-notices.co.uk, grief is something that is very close to our hearts. Thousands of you who visit our site every day are grieving the loss of a loved one, and so it is good to remind ourselves that while grief can be totally overwhelming, we are never alone in our feelings.

The following Instagram accounts will remind you that not only are there others out there going through similar hurt, but that it is ok to feel that pain and to deal with it in your own time, on your own terms.

The Griefcase

This account shares stories from followers who have experienced grief and loss. This is a great account if you need reminding that you are not alone in your grief, and that your feelings are all perfectly valid.

The Storyteller Co.

Beautiful illustrations and inspirational messages are in abundance on this account. They are trying to plug their app at the same time, but there is more than enough to be taken from the images as well as in the captions that accompany them.

annecarly.mm

Anne’s cute little notes and illustrations accompany a bold honesty when it comes to sharing her emotions surrounding her own grief and trauma. This account reminds us that we don’t need to ‘get over it’, and if we want to wallow in our grief for a while then that is ok.

Sh*tty Watercolour

Here you will find a series of short four-panel watercolour comics about a man and his cat, all of which have a very melancholy feel but with an uplifting message behind every one. The account feels friendly and warm, and should bring about a smile on even the darkest of days.

Learning About Grief

This is a great account to follow if you are struggling to understand someone else's grief. It educates the reader without overwhelming them with complicated terminology or ideas, and normalises the feelings of those who are grieving.

I hope you found something of use in this blog, and if you ever feel yourself being overwhelmed by your grief, then please do reach out to somebody and share what you are going through.
