The old Post Office
Baglan Funeral Home celebrates 25 years of serving the local community this March, opening its doors on St. David's Day in 2000.

Initially trading as Jones and Jenkins, Gareth Jenkins’ late grandfather Evan and father Del established the business in Cymmer in the 1940s. They operated for many years within the Afan Valley as both builders and funeral directors.

Gareth had grown up around funerals and joined the family business at just 16 years of age.

Gareth and his wife Christine, both fluent Welsh speakers, decided in the late 1990s to expand the business and proceeded with plans to design a purpose-built funeral home in Baglan. Built on the old Post Office site, the new premises opened in March 2000.

Funeral Director Craig Perfect joined the funeral home in 2005. He began working in the funeral profession at 17 with a family-owned business in Swansea.
