How much money was raised for charity on funeral-notices.co.uk in 2020?

Here at funeral-notices.co.uk we are very proud of the website we have built and all the unique features that we have to offer, but more importantly we are proud of the community that has grown within our pages. All across the country, friends and families are coming back year after year to pay tribute to the memory of a lost loved one, sharing photos, stories and loving thoughts.

But sometimes when someone you love has passed, you want to feel like you’ve done more in their memory to show not only how much you cared, but also that they will leave behind a legacy. That’s why we introduced our own Donations Service that is free to add to any main Funeral Notice at the time of booking.

A donation to a charity in someone’s memory is not just a nice thing to do as an alternative to flowers, but it really does help those grieving to know just how much people cared, as well as giving a meaning to an otherwise seem to be a very meaningless loss.

We don’t want to keep you in suspense any longer, so the overall total for 2020 was £703,668! Not only that, but because an online donation service makes it much easier to add Gift Aid onto your donation, that means an extra £123,055 was collected by the charities that they might have otherwise missed out on!

Now, we don’t want to make it seem like we are putting these huge numbers on here to blow our own trumpet; far from it in fact. We are sharing these numbers to say THANK YOU! Yes, you did this. We might have provided the platform, but it was friends, families, colleagues, and neighbours who have made such a massive difference to a vast array of different charities across England, Scotland and Wales, in what has been an incredibly difficult year for all charitable organisations.

Over the coming weeks we will take a closer look at where all your kind donations money went, and what they mean to places such as local Hospices, Air Ambulances, and of course the NHS.

Together in 2021, we can raise over £1,000,000 for charities, and create lasting legacies for thousands of lost loved ones in the process.
