ZenaLEARNERIn Loving Memory of Zena Learner March 1936 - January 2025 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zena Learner, a devoted mother, cherished teacher, and beloved friend. Zena passed peacefully at Westgate House on 14th January, aged 88 years.
From a young age, she displayed a passion for learning and teaching, which led her to pursue a career in education. She dedicated the working years of her life to inspiring and guiding countless students, specialising in working with those with learning difficulties. Her classroom was a space filled with encouragement, patience, and unwavering support for every student who walked through the door. Beyond her professional life, Zena was a beloved wife of the late Arthur, devoted mother to John and Michael, who were the light of her life. She embraced motherhood with love and strength, always wanting the best for her sons and was devoted to her grandchildren. She is survived by her son John and his wife Sue, her Grandchildren Stephanie and Sophie, as well as her son Michael and his wife Hani, and their children Nishma and Shanim.
The funeral service will be held on 4th February at Parndon Wood Crematorium Harlow at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Children in Need or Save the Children, a reflection of Zena's lifelong commitment to supporting and educating children.
