Dr Robert David M.B Ch.BGARTSIDEOf Bowness on Windermere, died on 9th January 2025 in Royal Lancaster Hospital after a short stay. Aged 93 years.

Loving husband of June Margaret Gartside, father of David, stepfather of Gideon, Adam and Barnaby and grandad of Charlotte. Loved and missed by all.

A private family cremation will be held followed by a public memorial service at St Martin's Church, Bowness on Windermere at 12.30pm on 3rd February 2025 with a reception to follow.

Family flowers only. Donations to Springhill Hospice, Rochdale can be made online via fishwicksfunerals.co.uk.

Dr Gartside was our family GP for many years during the 1970's and 80's. He came to see me every day at my home on his way home after his surgery whilst I was suffering a pneumonia and had been in a hospital in Devon but had been released early,much to his disgust! Dr Gartside was a true gentleman. We were lucky to have been amongst his patients. Rest in Peace Dr Bob.
